- Description
- Kansas City Parking Aerial View of the KC Campus The IRS Kansas City Consolidated Campus is located at 333 West Pershing Road in Kansas City. It sits in the shadow of the Liberty Memorial and is about a block west of Union Station - (Aerial image attached). The campus was designed with security in mind. So much so that first time visitors get special directions to find our hidden entrance to our Visitor Center. All visitors must enter through the visitor center on their first day. After that, employee visitors may use the any employee entrance. Contract visitors must always enter and exit through the visitor center. By Car - (Map to Parking Attached) Take Pershing Road west to the stoplight at Pershing Road and Broadway. There are signs directing you to the Union Station Parking Garage. Turn right onto Broadway. At the stop sign at the bottom of the hill turn right. The parking garage structure is to the right. Go about 1/ 3 rd of the way down and turn into the parking garage. There are arms there and a machine that will give you a parking ticket. Park on the 3 rd, or 4 th levels, but don't park in any spaces marked for the USPS. Take your parking ticket with you. The guards can validate it for you so you get free parking. On Foot Enter the South Side of Union Station (from Pershing Road). Enter the grand hall and go left down the stairs/escalator. Continue straight and exit Union Station to the parking area. Either walk in front of or through the parking garage to the elevator bank that's on the south side, towards the west end of the parking garage. Accessing the Visitor Center There are 2 elevator banks in the parking garage. Only the one on the south side towards the west end will take you to the IRS Campus (look for the overhead signs). Go down to the "T" level (Tunnel). When you come out of the elevator on the "T" level, angle off to the right. The entrance is hidden from view. If you step around the corner, you'll see the doors. Go through the doors and down a long hallway to the guard console. Check in at the guard console Security Badge All employees and visitors are required to wear their ID badges at all time on campus. Notice of Visit/Property Pass All visitors to the campus must be pre-approved by Centralized Delivery Services (for training) or by their hosting organization with a Notice of Visit. Depending on the type of approval, visitors may be provided with an access card to access the site. Security/Inspection All visitors may be subject to a visual inspection of their bags, purses, laptops, etc., and must go through the X-ray machine.
