Description
The United States Marshals Service, Special Operations Group is an elite tactical unit. It is important for the unit to have and utilize the most up to date and most effective equipment on the market. This equipment includes the Recon ruggedized PDA with Horus Vision Military version ATrag A-1 ballistic software. These PDAs with ballistic software will be utilized by the Special Operations Group sniper unit to assist snipers obtain an accurate firing solution. Obtaining an accurate firing solution is essential to ensure that the sniper hits what he is aiming at. These PDAs combined with the Horus Vision software are currently being utilized by elite snipers from the U.S. Army's Special Forces Command and the U.S. Marine Corps. The Recon PDA has several features that allow the unit to be used in conjunction with several peripherals currently in SOG inventory. The Recon is compatible with both the Vectronix Moskito and PLRF, as well as the newly acquired I-scout detection system. Although customers can buy the Recon PDA and the Horus Vision ATrag ballistic software from other vendors, Horus Vision maintains proprietary rights over the military A1 version. Therefore, customers can obtain the ATrag military A1 version only through Horus Vision. Obtaining the A1 version also requires going through a company clearance process, which SDUSM Michael Frey has completed. The ATrag Military A1 version differs from the civilian version. The military A1 version contains several algorithms that are not available for civilian use. The differences allow a military or law enforcement sniper to know where their bullet is in flight at all stages. The military A1 version also contains a very restricted algorithm that allows a sniper to shoot through a one inch hole. This allows a sniper to engage targets and remain unseen, which is essential for the safety of the sniper.
