Description

Paving, Lock & Dam No. 2, Cape Fear River, Bladen County NC W912PM-11-T-0030 Government Responses to Contractor Questions 16 September 2011 Question 1:Note 5 states the pole is to moved 5' outside the edge of pavement. Can you show the exact location where the pole is to be located? Answer 1:Power pole is to be relocated to the east and in line with the existing triplex line, which is shown on the drawings. New location does not have to be exact, but should be 5-feet from the edge of the new pavement. Question 2:Is the power pole owned or maintained by Progress Energy? Answer 2:Power Pole is owned by Progress Energy. Question 3:Prime Coat is shown on the pavement detail. For this type of application prime coat is not used. Once we fine grade the stone we will be placing the asphalt. There will be no significant lag time between the two operations so prime coat will not be necessary to protect the stone prior to paving. Can this be deleted? Answer 3:Prime coat requirement is necessary and will not be deleted. All other terms of the solicitation remain unchanged. Quotes remain due NOT LATER THAN 11:00AM, EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME, 21 September 2011.
