Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs VA Healthcare Network has a requirement for a Contractor to provide service and maintenance of Nuance Dictation systems. This is a notice of intent to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302, the Statutory Authority Permitting Other Than Full and Open Competition cited is: 6.302-1(b)(2) 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1). Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements due to the existence of compatibility and proprietary software and licensing. This is not a request for proposals it is a notice that the Government intends to negotiate with Nuance, 3984 Pepsi Cola Drive, Melbourne, FL 32934-9219 for a one year contract for services and maintenance of all dictation and transcription hardware and software and all peripherals that tare linked to the dictation systems (EX-Voice, Text, Speech and Powerscribe) for the Department of Veterans Healthcare Network Upstate NY. The NAICS code is 811212 and the size standard is 23.0 million. This procurement is based on the determination that the governments minimum needs can best be satisfied as a sole source requirements available from only one source. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. Responsible sources may identify their interest an capacity to provide this service and maintenance by responding to mary.betker@va.gov Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement for future requirements. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. No telephone requests will be accepted.
