Description
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION as defined in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 15.201(e). NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT EXISTS. The Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) is conducting a market survey to obtain information on responsible sources that have the capability to provide Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor (VCI) or Vapor Phase Corrosion Inhibitor (VpCI) protective covers based on the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 314911, and if these VCI or VpCI protective covers are available via a General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) contract. MARCORSYSCOM believes that there are large, small and 8a businesses that have the capability to provide these VCI or VpCI protective covers for use on Marine Corps tactical and support equipment. The protective covers shall deliver VCI or VpCI chemistry for the protection of packaged metals and equipment. The advanced delivery systems are used as protective covers and employed to prevent corrosion on tactical and support equipment in corrosive environments, during staging, transportation and movement. The protective covers must be available with minimal production and delivery time, and meet form, fit and function for protected item without modification to the equipment being protected. Additionally, the protective covers shall be reusable, lightweight, easy to remove and install. The U.S. Marine Corps will use the results of this announcement to determine what capabilities exist in the marketplace. MARCORSYSCOM will not pay or provide reimbursement for any costs incurred in the preparation or delivery of the request for information. Interested firms are requested to submit a response in a Microsoft Office compatible format, not to exceed 10 pages, outlining their ability to meet or exceed the requirements identified above by no later than 4:00 PM Local Time, 29 October 2011. Firms should also include their business size/type, and past performance for the same type of protective covers, if applicable. Only electronic submissions will be accepted. Interested sources shall send responses via e-mail to andrias.woody@usmc.mil. THE SUBMISSION OF THIS INFORMATION IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO PROCURE ANY SERVICES/ITEMS.
