- This special notice is issued by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, San Carlos Irrigation Project, Coolidge, Arizona that the agency intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price purchase order pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 to ITRON INC. in an estimated amount of $60,000 ($12,000 base year in addition to $12,000 per year for four option years). The general description of services is stated as follows: The San Carlos Irrigation Project (SCIP) utilizes metering products manufactured by Itron in over 90 percent of SCIP's metering system. Therefore, it is critical SCIP maintains technical support services from Itron. SCIP must maintain annual license fees for proprietary software and hardware technologies as offered by Itron. SCIP receives from Itron all scheduled maintenance releases for licensed software. Scheduled maintenance releases, which are issued periodically, maintain original software functionality and include available fixes for reported, verified, and corrected problems. Itron will make available qualified technical representatives to assist the SCIP with operation of proprietary software. This technical support includes, but is not limited to, troubleshooting software issues; file management, report generation, interpretation of error messages, problem diagnosis, and recommendations for fully utilizing software capabilities. Itron also will answer questions regarding procedures, documentation, operation, service, training, and Software enhancements. Currently, SCIP uses thirteen Itron mobile collectors and nine Itron multi-dock cradles for communication and charging of mobile collectors. SCIP must maintain technical support of these devices and will look to update aging hardware this service year. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation will be issued however all responses received within 10 calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 10 calendar days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the government, the award will be issued to ITRON INC. Responses must be received by 1:30pm Arizona Time on November 2, 2011.
