- Sole Source Justification For: Simplified Acquisitions over $3,000 and up to $150,000 supplies/services • The Supply/Service listed below is available from only one source and competition is precluded for reasons indicated below. There are no substitutes available for this supply/service. • Restricted to the following source: YSI Inc • Description of work: • GENERAL: The St. Paul District Corps of Engineers requires the services of a contractor to repair a damaged YSI Profiler Pontoon for the District's water quality monitoring program. REQUIRED PRODUCTS: The contractor shall replace and/or repair all damaged equipment, integrate the parts and test the assembly. Parts needed to be replaced and/or repaired are listed in Table 1. Upon completion of all necessary work, the new assembly and the old parts will be shipped to the following address: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Lake Ashtabula Project Office 2630 114th Ave. SE Valley City, ND 58072-9795 701-845-2970 • Specific characteristics of the service that limit competition: The YSI vertical profiling buoy is a specialized assembly of water quality sensors, computer equipment, software, communication hardware and mechanical parts that is suitable for unattended water quality monitoring on lakes, reservoirs and estuaries. • Interested parties are required to submit any information on or before 3:00 p.m., Central Standard Time 27 October 2011 to the attention of Jesse Onkka, contract specialist.
