Description
The National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) seeks commerical sources that are capable of providing a high resolution, high performance, Particle Luminescence Spectroscopy System to support operations in Surface and Microanalysis sciences Division. It will be employed to investigate a wide range of particles and nanoparticles, including organic and inorganic and hybrid structures. High-resolution imaging and spectral analysis elements/modes will be required. After results of this sources sought are obtained and analyzed and specifications are developed for a particle luminescence spectroscopy system that can meet NIST's minimum requirements, NIST may conduct a competitive procurement and subsequently award a Purchase Order. If at least two qualified small businesses are identified during this sources sought stage, then any competitive procurement that resulted would be conducted as a small business set-aside. NIST has a need for Particle Luminescence Spectroscopy System that would meet the following requirements: Spectroscopy detector: Imaging Spectrograph and Monochromator: • 500mm focal length, micrometer controlled entrance slit • Shall include a micrometer controlled exit slit, motorized exit mirror • shall include standard multichannel detector adaptor flange • Shall include triple grating turret, providing 90° and 180° optical path • Shall be capable of automated wavelength and intensity calibration • Shall include wavelength and intensity calibration light sources. • Shall include Gratings, 2400 G/mm, 1200 G/mm, and 600 G/mm with 500nm blaze wavelength. • Shall include an adjustable Fiber Adapter with horizontal translation capability, with10 mm diameter ferrule. Image and Spectral Acquisition and control software: • Shall be 100% software compatible with WinSpec and WinView acquisition platforms. Detectors: Digital CCD Camera System will include two detectors: • Detector #1 Shall provide a scientific grade, back-illuminated, CCD with 1024 x 1024 pixels, 13 x 13 μm pixels (13.3mm x 13.3mm image area); with thermoelectric Peltier cooled with liquid circulation; with dual speed read out, 2 MHz and 100 kHz 16 bit; and with USB 2.0 interface. • Detector #2 Shall provide an intensified camera system with a scientific grade, front-illuminated CCD, with 1024 x 1024 pixels, 12.8 x 12.8 μm pixels (13.1 x 13.1 mm image area); with up to 32MHz (16MHzx2) digitization; with timing generator in the camera; with gigabit data Interface; with C-mount, F-mount, and spectrometer-mount; with power supply; and with a 5m data interface cable. CCD - charge coupled device WinSpec - Roper Scientific/Princeton Instruments spectral control software WinView - Roper Scientific/Princeton Instruments imaging control software NIST is seeking responses from all responsible sources, including large, foreign, and small businesses. Small businesses are defined under the associated NAICS code for this effort, 334516, as those domestic sources having 500 employees or less. Please include your company's size classification in any response to this notice. Companies that manufacture Particle Luminescence Spectroscopy System are requested to email a detailed report describing their abilities to douglas.joyner@nist.gov no later than the response date for this sources sought notice. The report should include achievable specifications and any other information relevant to your product or capabilities. Also, the following information is requested to be provided as part of the response to this sources sought notice: 1. Name of the company that manufactures the system components for which specifications are provided. 2. Name of company(ies) that are authorized to sell the system components, their addresses, and a point of contact for the company (name, phone number, fax number and email address). 3. Indication of number of days, after receipt of order that is typical for delivery of such systems. 4. Indication of whether each instrument for which specifications are sent to douglas.joyner@nist.gov are currently on one or more GSA Federal Supply Schedule contracts and, if so, the GSA FSS contract number(s). 5. Any other relevant information that is not listed above which the Government should consider in developing its minimum specifications and finalizing its commerical sources.
