- The U.S. Army Medical Command (MEDCOM), Center for Health Care Contracting (CHCC), Fort Sam Houston, TX will conduct an Industry Day for Healthcare Housekeeping Services on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. For interested vendors/firms, the government will conduct 15-minute, one-on-one meetings on Thursday, December 1, 2011 from 11:00 am - 5:00 pm. Both large and small business concerns are encouraged to attend Industry Day for exchange of information and networking purposes. As the facilitator, the CHCC will create a venue for government and commercial industry to exchange ideas, solutions, and discuss various acquisition-related challenges concerning MEDCOM's procurement of healthcare housekeeping services at multiple military treatment facilities (MTFs) throughout the continental United States (CONUS). The discussions will include, but not limited to: commercial acquisition terms, conditions, and best practices; cost saving efficiencies and initiatives; and commercial industry insights on performance-based solutions, commercial voluntary consensus standards such as Association for Healthcare Environment (AHE) and Cleaning Industry Management Standard - Green Building (CIMS-GB), and commercial quality control programs. As such, industry participation is key to a successful outcome and the government requests all industry feedback, (e.g., suggestions, questions, clarifications, etc.), to the attached MEDCOM PWS template, to include technical exhibits and attachments, for Healthcare Housekeeping Services not later than 21 November 2011. Interested vendors/firms interested in attending are limited to three (3) attendees and are required to pre-register due to limited conference space. Interested vendors/firms shall indicate if they are attending the conference only (November 30, 2011) or if they are attending the conference and scheduling a 15-minute, one-on-one government meeting (November 30 - December 1, 2011). Vendors/firms requesting a 15-minute, one-on-one government meeting may request a specific time on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 11:00 am, December 1, 2011. The government requests that interested vendors/firms in the local area of Fort Sam Houston, TX be scheduled between 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Interested vendors/firms shall provide via email the names and point of contact information, to include telephone number, email address, of their Industry Day attendees to Ms. Katherine Perry at email, Katherine.i.perry@us.army.mil, no later than 3:00 PM Central Daylight Time, Wednesday, 23 November 2011. On day of conference, 30 November 2011, registration will tentatively begin at 8:15 AM. The conference location for Industry Day will be at the Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20) Conference Center, 1314 Hines Avenue, San Antonio, TX 78208-1899. The one-on-one meetings' location is TBD and will be provided to vendors/firms that request a one-on-one meeting.
