Description
This announcement is to provide notification of the Department of Veterans Affairs' intent to enter into a sole source contract with ALCON Surgical, 15800 Alton Parkway, Irvine, CA 92718, for service and maintenance for the following equipment: Vitreoretinal System - ALCON Surgical Model: Accurus 800CS (SN: 0601536701X); and, Surgical System - ALCON Surgical Model: Infinity Vision OZIL (SN: 0601999001X). The equipment is located and the service will be performed at the VA Medical Center, 800 Irving Avenue, Syracuse, NY, 13210. The service and maintenance agreement must meet the following requirements: one (1) preventive maintenance visit per quarter, and training of a biomed tech to provide initial trouble-shooting information. The contract will be for one base year with the possibility of up to four (4) one-year options. Any interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement and should furnish detailed data concerning their capabilities to provide the requirements as stated above. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements must provide written notification to the Contracting Specialist by Officer by Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 4:00 PM. Information should be sent to Edward Lyke, Contracting Specialist, at Edward.Lyke@va.gov. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Department of Veteran Affairs will proceed with the intended contract.
