Description

The VA Great Lakes Acquisition Center intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Hologic Limited Partnership, Inc. in Marlborough, MA, for ThinPrep Pap Tests and associated accessory items for the Edward Hines VA Hospital in Hines, IL. The Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service of Hines VA Hospital has a requirement for ThinPrep Pap Tests and associated processing supplies. These pap tests and supplies are needed to sample and preserve gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens for cytopathological examination. These are the only tests and supplies that are compatible with the testing processor in place at the Hines VA Hospital. These test kits and supplies are only available from Hologic. This procurement is being conducted in accordance FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitations documents are available and telephone requests will not be honored. However, if a firm believes it can meet the requirements it must furnish information about its products and services, as well as references from other customers who are using these products and service, to the Contract Specialist by 2:00PM (CST) November 15, 2011. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information must be sent to the Contract Specialist, VAMC GLAC, 5000 W. National Ave Bldg. 6, Milwaukee WI 53295 or via fax to (414) 902-5510. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Hologic Limited Partnership
