Description

Overton Brooks VA Medical Center (OBVAMC), Shreveport LA, requires a contractor to provide all labor, material, tools, equipment, and supervision necessary to perform removal of asbestos-containing materials (ACM) / asbestos contaminated materials and clean-up of asbestos-containing materials (ACM) / asbestos contaminated materials. All piping insulation in the space shall be abated, bagged and removed from the space. The contractor shall be responsible for air monitoring during removal and clean-up of asbestos containing materials (ACM) and asbestos contaminated materials. Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) shall be the method utilized to provide final air clearances for each of these occupied spaces. The ACM removal will be completed in accordance with protocols mandated for such activities by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (Louisiana DEQ) regulations for asbestos management in schools and OSHA regulations. The removal and monitoring will be conducted by person(s) certified by the Louisiana DEQ and OSHA (10 or 30 hour training) to conduct such activities for a school entity. All work shall be accomplished in accordance with the statement of work and current applicable code requirements included in the solicitation. Cost magnitude of the project is between $25,000 and $100,000. The solicitation is to be issued as a 100% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Set-Aside under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 562910. This size standard is $14 Million per year. This information is only used for classification purposes in the representation and certification portion of the Request for Proposal (RFP). Anticipated issued date is December 5, 2011 and anticipated date for receipt of offers is January 4, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. Local Time. A pre-bid site visit is tentatively scheduled for December 15, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. Local Time. All prospective SDVOSB offerors are responsible to visit the FedBizOpps website frequently to obtain any amendment(s) or other information pertaining to this solicitation. Contractors must be registered in the VetBiz and Central Contractor Registration (CCR) in order to be considered for an award. A prospective awardee shall not only be registered in, but also certified and viewable, in the VetBiz database at time of submission of offer, during performance, and through final payment of any contract resulting from solicitation VA256-12-R-0160.
