Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to issue a sole source, firm fixed price contract award to Applied Biosystems, 850 Lincoln Centre Drive, Foster City, CA 94404, for a quantity of 600 of Part number 4342249, MFC, GENE-EX, CONF2. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. To the best of our knowledge, only Applied Biosystems will satisfy the Agency's requirement because this is the only vendor that can provide the equipment for using reagents that have been purchased from Applied Biosystems while utilizing specific protocols for current methods of sequence analysis. No solicitation is being issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes/proposals, however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement which, if received by the response date, shall be considered by the Agency. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within discretion of the Government.
