- This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. National Institute on Drug Abuse, Office of Acquisitions- Neurosciences, Station Support/Simplified Acquisitions on behalf of the National Institute on Aging (NIA) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with for the continuation of services of Drs. Gharib, Higgins, Brown & Razza, PC, of 1201 Seven Locks Road, Suite 200, Rockville, Maryland. Currently, the contractor is providing clinical over-read services at the Harbor Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland under purchase order HHSN271201200063P. The images are from a 3T MRI. The over-reads are to be performed within close of business on the day of the image. Dictated summaries are due within 48 hours of the image. The contractor is the only known source that has privileges at Harbor Hospital for the clinical over-reads. Period of performance is 12 months, with the option to exercise up to one additional one-year option period. It is anticipated that the amount of clinical over-reads is not to exceed 300. The acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition using FAR 12 procedures and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, Competition Requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Comments to this announcement, referencing synopsis number HHSN271201200063P may be submitted to the NIDA, Station Support/Simplified Acquisition Branch, 31 Center Drive, Bldg 31, Room 1B59, Bethesda, MD 20892-2080, and Attention: Susan A. Nsangou, Contracting Officer.
