- 1991 Submittals HVAC Site Plan Floor Plan Elevations THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This is not a solicitation for bids, proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this RFI is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of all qualified sources to perform a potential requirement. The responses we receive from interested Vendors will assist the Government in determining the appropriate systems to replace existing conditions and will help us determine the most appropriate acquisition method. This RFI is for the replacement of centralized mechanical equipment for an office complex. The USDA, Forest Service is seeking information from suppliers, designers, and contractors regarding a possible future construction project at the US Forest Service, Gauley District Administrative Complex in Richwood, West Virginia. This project includes replacement of existing mechanical units or systems at this existing site in order to save long-term operational costs, eliminated dated systems and improve the comfort to the occupants. Currently, there is an air distribution system within a crawl space supplied by propane, package units for heating and cooling. There are 2 Trane 7 ½ ton horizontal, gas/electric, dual compression packaged units (YCH090) installed at this office. A third branch system called "AC-3" will be considered as well. The USFS would like to consider every available replacement alternative which would fulfill the following requirements; • Low long-term fuel costs achieving savings over the current conditions. Achieve significant savings. • Minimized, annual operation and maintenance costs. • Consider green and sustainable systems alternatives in addition to traditional fuel replacements if they can achieve the above mentioned criteria. Biomass, geothermal, solar and wind systems have been successfully installed at other USFS locations. • Reasonable first-time installation expenses. • The client would like consider reusing the existing ductwork distribution system or consider replacing it if the life cycle cost of replacement justifies the additional expense. The Forest Service is conducting this market survey to determine the existence of potential sources with the capacity to accomplish this work. Responding Vendors should have demonstrated past experience in this type of work as a supplier, installer, contractor, design-builder, or designer. The purpose of this search is to consider every serious replacement alternative that will be converted into a future construction solicitation. We will consider reuse of the existing distribution system or evaluate a new or additional replacement distribution systems being installed. Grill and supply/return alterations/installations (or new devices) may be considered in the heated office space. but large interior renovations will not be considered. The existing units are exterior, ground-mounted systems. The same location is feasible or new locations may be proposed. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their ideas and suggestions including any ancillary documents to explain the system and company. This submittal should include a statement of the replacement equipment, a general estimate of the installation and equipment costs, anticipated annual fuel costs for an indoor winter temperature of 72 deg and a summer temperature of 74 deg., and any other pertinent information that would assist the USFS designers in making a system selection. Each submittal should also include the following business information: a. DUNS number b. Organization Name c. Company Address d. Point of Contact (including name, title, addresses, telephone number, fax number and Email address) e. Business size f.
