- A market survey is being conducted to determine if there are a reasonable number of interested small business concerns to set this future project aside for them. If your firm is a Small Business, certified HUBZONE, 8A, or Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business and you are interested in this project please respond appropriately. The proposed project is for the construction of a new Air Traffic Control Tower. The tower will be an eight (8) floor high, steel and concrete structure and control cab with a total height of 155 feet. Support structures include control cab, mechanical and electrical with backup power generator, electronic equipment rooms, elevator and communications support. Construct associated Base Operations Facility. Structure is to include mechanical and electrical, electronic equipment rooms, fire suppression, and communications support. This facility will be a single story masonry structure. Facilities to demolish contain asbestos and lead based paint. Contract duration is estimated at 540 Days. The estimated cost range is between $10,000,000.00 and $25,000,000.00. NAICS is 236220. All interested Small Businesses, certified HUBZONE, 8A, or Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business contractors should respond to this survey by email not later than 27 January 2012 by 12:00 Eastern Standard Time. Responses should include: (1) Identification and verification of the company's small business status. (2) The level of performance and payment bonding capacity that the company could attain for the proposed project. (3) Descriptions of Experience - Provide descriptions your firm's past experience on projects with greater than 90% construction complete or those projects completed within the last five years which are similar to this project in size, scope, and dollar value. a. Projects considered similar in scope to this project include: Contractor must have experience in the construction of an Air Traffic Control Tower and Base Ops facility. Projects similar in scope for the Base Ops are office buildings. Contractor need to show experience in the installation of Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) mechanical system. b. Projects similar in size will include: New construction project with a total of 155 VF for a Control Tower and Base Ops with total of 15,876 SF c. Projects of similar dollar value will include: New construction projects with an original contract amount in excess of $15M. (4) A statement of the portion of the work that will be self performed on this project, and how it will be accomplished.
