- RFI SPEC/DIM Request for Information Planning Purposes (a) The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this Request for Information or to otherwise pay for the information solicited except as an allowable cost under other contracts as provided in subsection 31.205-18, Bid and proposal costs, of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. (b) Although "proposal" and "offeror" are used in this Request for Information, your response will be treated as information only. It shall not be used as a proposal. (c) This Request for Information is issued for the purpose of: The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to solicit interests and information from sources in regards to a Marine Crane Replacement for the USCGC SMILAX (WLIC-315). The USCGC SMILAX (WLIC-315) is uniquely one of kind 100 foot Inland Construction Tender that was commissioned in 1944. The current crane for this cutter has been removed and is unserviceable. The manufacturer for the crane from available information is Ingersoll-Rand. The US COAST GUARD is looking for a commercially available Maine Crane that can be supplied and installed to form fit aboard the USCGC SIMILAX with little or no modifications, along with all operating manuals and maintenance schedules. The Cutter's Home Port is: USCGC SMILAX (WLIC-315), 2301 East Fort Macon RD, Atlantic Beach, NC 28512. Interested parties are strongly encouraged to make a ship check of the USCGC SMILAX. Information on Training for : operation and maintenance 4. Information on past performance on for other Marine Cranes for Coast Guard, U.S. Navy, or similar commercial vessels.
