- Description
- The United States Coast Guard, Surface Forces Logistics Centers, Long Range Enforcer - Contracts & Procurement Branch 2, Oakland, CA anticipates awarding sole source procurement to Tognum America Inc. for technical assistance to repair crankshaft seal for salt water and jacket water pumps. Technician will also install a new crankshaft seal, jacket water pump, sea water pump, air start solenoid & repair lube oil leaks on turbo oil line on board the USCGC Bertholf. Tognum America Inc. is being awarded this contract due to equipment degradation to their NR1 MDE that is experiencing multiple oil leaks from the crankcase seal, sea water pump & turbo oil supply lines and engine coolant leak from the jacket water pump. It is necessary to contract with the requested vendor to obtain the required services because Tognum America Inc. has special expertise in the design and performance of their equipment and its ability to integrate its performance with other systems. The existing configuration requires use of specific repair materials, manufactured by Tognum America Inc. to ensure correct form, fit & safety of the vessel's NR1 MDE systems. Tognum America Inc. is the sole proprietor. This procurement will be made on behalf of the CGC Bertholf. Vendor will provide all the parts listed in the Schedule of items. NAICS Code # 336611 applies to this procurement. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. No solicitation will be issued, however all responses received on/before 0900am PST on 30January, 2012 will be reviewed by the Government. A determination not to compete this proposed contract based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.
