- Arcata Associates, Inc. has a requirement for one (1) each SpectraGard SameBusiness Day On Site Support N700-, 10TB Disk Kit S/N 0903904 and one (1) eachSpectraGard Same Business Day On Site Support T950, 16 Drives, 1 Qip, 560 Slots,Professional Encryption S/N 0804401.Arcata Associates, Inc. intends to purchase the items from SpectraGard Worldwide Supportlocated at 6285 Lookout Road, Boulder, Colorado 80301. SpectraGard Worldwide and itsauthorized trained technicians and personnel possess the knowledge, skill, and resourcesto perform repairs, re-certification, and other services covered under the terms of theannual maintenance contract. In addition, SpectraGard Worldwide is the only source ableto meet service level schedules and maintain critical response times. SpectraGardWorldwide does contract with authorized resellers that may resell Spectra Logic supportcontracts; however, resellers do not have the capability to provide support at all of thesupport levels. Unauthorized third party service providers do not have access to theproprietary diagnostic tools, firmware and software required to keep the products up todate with all current changes. Only SpectraGard Worldwide certified and authorizedservice providers have the capability to execute the services provided for under theannual maintenance contract due to the proprietary and highly technical nature of themanufactured equipment. The annual maintenance support agreement supports an existingNASA DFRC capability with the Data Center. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon February 16, 2012. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not] acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
