- Description
- The USMC is planning to procure fifteen (15) maintenance lift assemblies to provide an elevator type capability to perform maintenance on the back of the fifteen by thirty foot (15` x 30`) radar array (while in the operational configuration) for AN/TPS-59A(V)3 Radars. Appendix A to this Request for Information (RFI) includes pictures of the assemblies as they are currently used on the Radar. The USMC has identified the minimum requirements for these maintenance lift assemblies in this RFI as follows: 1.The Contractor shall build the maintenance lift assembly to print with modifications allowed that maintain, form, fit, and function at the maintenance lift assembly level. The Contractor shall, at the minimum, maintain the current lift capacity, 400 Hz capability, safety procedures, and not exceed the current weight and power consumption of the current maintenance lift assemblies. No special tools to assemble/disassemble the rails are allowed. 2.The Contractor shall provide altered item drawings and parts lists, to address deleted/superseded specifications, and resolve any parts obsolescence issues. Appendix B includes the current parts list. The Government will provide the available drawings with the solicitation. The Contractor shall update and deliver any drawings and parts lists that change as a result of the resolution of any obsolescence or Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) issues that affect the current parts or assemblies to be delivered. 3.The Contractor shall provide all materials, equipment, tooling, personnel, and facilities necessary to perform the tasks and deliver the types and quantities of deliverables specified by the contract. Upon successful completion of first article test and integration, the Government may exercise contract options for production and delivery. First article test will be conducted on a Government furnished array at a location to be provided with the solicitation. 4.The Government will make an array available at industry day for inspection of the maintenance lift assembly. The AN/TPS-59A(V)3 Project Officer will present a brief on the current maintenance lift assembly at the industry day. Specifically, the Project Officer will present the planned production, current challenges, and delivery strategy for the maintenance lift assemblies. Information will be provided to respondents to this RFI regarding the date, place, and time of the industry day. Industry day will be held before release of the solicitation. Respondents interested in attending industry day shall be able to provide information necessary to fill out a visit request and gain access to a military installation. Respondents shall keep attendance to a maximum of three (3) people per company. (see Attachment)
