Statement of Work Project No: 623-12-104 Project Name: Replace Facilities Fire Alarm Systems Request A/E firm provide all required labor, material, equipment, and site investigations to develop contract documents for construction drawings and specifications and detailed cost estimate. Work includes Design Development, requiring the AE to make site investigations necessary to thoroughly evaluate the existing conditions and the project area. The development of Construction Drawings and Specifications developed from findings in the site investigation documents, project meetings with the service's involved in the changes, develop a detail construction cost estimates for reviews per Schedule B Special Provisions. AE shall provide As-Built Drawings from information provided on the marked up drawings by the contractor of construction. The AE shall provide Construction Period Services to adequate support for the VA on overseeing the construction of the project, to include review of submittals, answering RFI's, providing advice and consultation on questions, sketches, cost estimates and provide adequate representation on Pre-Bid and Pre-Construction meetings. AE shall have representatives from the needed discipline to make periodic scheduled site visits during the construction for the project and during the Final Inspection of the project. The project consists of the replacing of the existing fire alarms systems, with a system of the same manufacture with the ability to communication throughout the system. This system shall comply with all applicable codes and standards, the system design and installation, test, maintenance, inspection and records. Fire alarm system shall alarm, supervisory and Trouble. Initiating devices (Alarm Signals) shall include manual pull stations, smoke detectors, Heat detectors, Sprinkler water flow switches. The initiation devices (Supervisory Signals), shall include in-duct smoke detectors and sprinkler valve tamper switches. The notification appliances shall be audible and visual types. The operating modes of this system shall be private. The fire safety functions shall have door holder control, HVAC system control, elevator recall and power shunt and extinguishing system activation. Wiring methods shall be styles of circuits with quality of installation. Styles of circuits shall be Class B initiating device circuit, Class B notification appliance circuits, Class B signaling line circuits and Class A communication between buildings. The system design and installation shall site central annunciation, control equipment, remote annunciation, initiating device placement, notification appliance placement and fire safety functions. Renovation will scheduling, planning the complete installation required for minor architectural changes, with phasing to keep the existing system in operation for protection while the new system is being installed for the completion of this project. A/E shall develop all construction documents, drawings and specifications and provide a detailed construction cost estimate. A/E firm shall comply with NFPA, NEC and Life Safety Codes, VA Design Criteria, construction standards and other required construction documents for the development this design. THE CERTIFICATION AND ACCREDITION REQUIREMENTS DO NOT APPLY AND THE SECURITY ACCREDITION PACKAGE IS NOT REQUIRED
