- Description
- Approved J&A The purpose of this Special Notice is to synopsize the Government's intent to award a firm-fixed price bridge purchase order for the continuation of bus lease without maintenance services on a sole source basis to Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation. The proposed contract action is for services for which DoDEA Pacific intends to solicit from one source in accordance with FAR 13-106-1(b). The Government intends to solicit a single source as the urgent nature of this contract action deems only one source reasonably available. The current contract expires 31 March 2012. However, the anticipated award date for the new requirement is 1 Aug 2012, leaving a 5-month break in service. Therefore, a 5-month bridge contract is necessary to provide uninterrupted bus lease services until the follow-on contract can be awarded. The anticipated award date for the bridge contract is 1 March 2012 with a period of performance from 1 Mar 2012 -31 July 2012. The proposed bridge contract action is for the lease of 23 each school buses and 6 each tour buses, a total of 29 buses without maintenance service. The required bus passenger sizes are as follows: 6 each forty-six passenger Tour Buses, 7 each forty-four Passenger School Buses, 13 each eighteen Passenger School Buses, and 3 each fourteen Passenger School Buses (with internal wheelchair lift and capability to transport 2 wheelchair bound students). The contractor shall provide for emergency towing services in the event of break-downs. Additionally, the contractor shall ensure that all buses and services provided meet all applicable Government of Japan (GOJ) motor vehicle laws and regulatory guidance.
