Description

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) intends to negotiate a sole source commercial item contract with the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO), 700 Galleria Parkway, Atlanta, GA 30339. The title of the project is 'Access to INPO's Equipment Performance and Information Exchange (EPIX) System Database. Specifically, INPO will be required to provide computer access to the EPIX System, the associated training and support services, and copies of the EPIX component data. The EPIX system is a web-based database that provides information on components important to nuclear plant safety and reliability. EPIX was developed to meet current and projected industry needs for component-level information exchange and to replace the Nuclear Plant Reliability Data System (NPRDS). EPIX also provides access to the retrieval of data reported to NPRDS from January 1973 through December 1996. The NRC has confirmed that the EPIX system is a proprietary database managed by and only available from INPO for exclusive use by its member organizations. The NRC intends to award a firm fixed price contract beginning on May 2, 2012 with a base period of one year and four one-year options.
