Description
IITEM SPECIFICATION FOR THREE 3-INCH INLINE PNEUMATIC GLOBE VALVES. REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. REQUESTS FOR A SOLICITATION AT THIS TIME WILL NOT RECEIVE A RESPONSE. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or otherwise pay for the information submitted. The information provided is considered Market Research and may be utilized by the Air Force in developing its acquisition strategy, Statement of Objectives, Statement of Work, Purchase Description and Specification. Any proprietary information that is submitted may be used as a general concept but specific information will be safeguarded as proprietary, if so marked and clearly identified in accordance with the applicable Government regulations. The Arnold Engineering and Development Center is conducting market research to determine the existence of potential sources to provide Three 3-Inch Inline Pneumatic Globe Valves. The information in this notice is based on current information available to date. This information is subject to change and is not binding to the Government. Updated information will be provided in future announcements, if applicable and posted electronically on the Federal Business Opportunites website at www.fbo.gov. Responses to this Sources Sought may or may not be returned. Not responding to this Sources Sought does not preclude participation in any future solicitation, if one if issued. The Government shall not reimburse the costs of preparing responses to this Request For Information (RFI). Arnold Engineering and Development Center Contracting Directorate (AFMC), Arnold Air Force Base, Tennessee intends to issue a formal Solicitation Reques for Proposal (RFP) or Request for Quotation (RFQ) in Fiscal Year 2013 for the acquisition of the Three 3 Inch-Inline Pneumatic Globe Valves. A SITE VISIT is NOT Required. REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI): The Government requests interested parties to submit a brief statement of current capability to provide the Three 3-Inch Inline Pneumatic Globe Valves. Interested and qualified sources need to address the following information: QUESTIONS/INFORMATION: 1. Vendors, please comment on the Specification provided (see Attachment), paying particular attention to the flange-to-flange face dimensions? 2. Vendors, please comment on the Specification provided (see Attachment), paying particular attention to the Remote Control requirements? 3. Vendors, please address valve availability per Specification (see Attachment), specifically whether valves with the specified flange-to-flange rating are available. 4. What is your company name, DUNS Number and CAGE code? 5. Who is your point of contact and please provide their name, address, email address and telphone number? 6. Is your company a small business for this NAICS Code? If your company is a small business, is it also a women owned business, small disadvantaged business, 8a business, HUB Zone business, service disabled veteran owned business, etc? 7. Would your company provide products of its own manufacture or would it provide products manufactured by another business? 8. Do you consider the requirements to be commercial (see FAR 2 definitions)? 9. Describe your experience with the same or similar requirements? Include item sold, customer name, quantities, date of delivery, period of performance, and if applicable Gov't contract number. 10. Is your interest in this as a prime contractor or as a subcontractor? 11. How long would you anticipate a requirement of this nature to take from receipt of an award to delivery date? 12. What is the anticipated lead time? 13. Discuss any concerns you may have with our requirement or specification. Please limit your submission to responses to these questions only.
