Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs Washington, DC Medical Center (DC VAMC) intends to solicit proposal from contractors in the Metropolitan Washington, DC area to provide a community based Transitional Housing services to Veterans with Serious Mental Illness (SMI). The DC VAMC is issuing the solicitation February 15, 2012 for this requirement and has a closing date for proposals on March 5, 2012. The solicitation will be available for download from http://www.fbo.gov. Interested contractors will be responsible for downloading copies of solicitation (and any subsequent amendments) from that website, and no hard copies will be made available. The solicitation will provide full information to contractors about the proposal submission process. Prospective offerors are encouraged to register their interest in the solicitation on the FBO website so that they are notified of the issuance of the solicitation and any amendments. Large and small businesses as well as non-profit organizations are welcome to respond; please note credit will be given to Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses or Veteran Owned Small Businesses having the capacity to provide this service. The NAIC Code for this solicitation is 624229. The goal of the Health Care for Homeless Veterans (HCHV) program is to end homelessness among Veterans by 2014. The HCHV Contracted Beds for Serious Mental illness is an opportunity to reduce Veterans homelessness, particularly those who present with mental health needs. Through the HCHV program, DC VAMC provides case management services to Veterans and facilitates their access to a broad range of medical, mental health, and rehabilitative services. Contractors will be required to demonstrate their ability to provide services. Contract will be for a period of one (1) plus four (4) base years. The government will use a best value source selection method under Part 13 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation and anticipates making multiple awards of fixed price, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contracts for this requirement. To be eligible for award, contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration data base at www.ccr.gov. Registration is free and potential offerors are encouraged to visit that CCR website and register as soon as possible to avoid delays should they be selected for a contract award.
