Description
NASA/SSC has a requirement for Hancock County Support of Mosquito Treatment for thebuffer zone and fee areas of Stennis Space Center that are within Hancock County, MS. The NASA/SSC Office of Procurement intends to issue a sole source, firm fixed pricecontract to Hancock County for mosquito control in the buffer zone of SSC. Therequirement is to perform mosquito spraying and implement other control efforts in thebuffer zone, inclusive of quarterly aerial pesticide spraying at a minimum. This couldbe more frequent based on mosquito breeding areas that could increase mosquitopopulation. Weekly monitoring of strategically placed mosquito light traps within theSSC Fee Area (traps will be furnished by the Governement under this purchase order). Submission of a weekly or quarterly report to NASA Equipment Management on light trapreading and all other activities performed in the buffer zone to aid in the control ofmosquitoes at SSC. Period of performance is for one year after the date of award.NASA/SSC intends to purchase the items from Hancock County on a sole source basis underthe authority of FAR 6.302-1. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item usingFAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon March 1, 2012. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
