Description

The Naval Air Systems Command intends to solicit and negotiate a Firm-Fixed Price, sole source contract modification under contract N00019-09-C-0019 to the Boeing Company, to add a fifth year of production for the F/A-18 E/F jet aircraft for FY14. This action will be for the procurement of upto 48 air craft. This sole source procurement will also include long lead procurement (Advanced Acquisition), Ancillary Mission Equipment, and technical data. The planned period of performance will be the base year. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority 10 USC 2304 (C)(1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." The Boeing Company is the sole designer, developer, manufacturer and integrator of the F/A-18 E/F and EA-18 G aircraft and is the only known source with the knowledge, expertise, facilities and qualified personnel necessary to accomplish this effort within the timeframe required. All respondents must submit a Statement of Qualifications to demonstrate respondent's ability to perform the Government's needs within the required timeframe.
