Description
The Coast Guard is seeking qualified businesses interested in providing "call when needed" helicopter charter services in Kodiak, Alaska. The total requirement is estimated to be up to 24 hours of flight hours and up to 40 hours of standby hours between May 1 and December 31, 2012. The Coast Guard anticipates a requirement for a Bell 206L (or similarly capable) helicopter to accommodate projected personnel, equipment, supplies and distances. It is a requirement that the helicopter and the pilot be based on Kodiak as time may not allow and payment will NOT be made for transit to/from Kodiak before and after chartered flights. Pilots must have experience flying in and around Kodiak to locations similar to those listed in the next paragraph. Exact dates, times and locations of flights have not been determined at this time. However, multiple areas on Kodiak Island, Katmai National Park, Raspberry Island, Marmot Island, Sitkinak Dome and East Chugach Island are palnned. Interested vendors who feel that they meet the above listed requirements for Kodiak based helicopter charter services should respond to the Contracting Officer, via e-mail, at mari.k.meiners@uscg.mil with a summary of qualifications. Please be advised that the Contracting Officer will be out of the office from February 24 - March 2 and may not have access to e-mails during that period. However, all e-mails received during that time will be read the following week. All qualified parties will be given consideration. If it is determined that a sole source situation exists, the Coast Guard may proceed with a sole source procurement.
