Description
NOTICE OF DECISION TO CONTRACT WITH A SINGLE-SOURCE: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Aviation System Standards (AVN), Flight Inspection Operations Group (FIOG:AJW-33) proposes to acquire by single source acquisition, services, subscription, and support for two Rockwell Collins (OEM) custom Flight Management System (FMS) navigation databases. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center, intends to award a Contract to Rockwell Collins of Cedar Rapids, IA (Duns Number 060605883). The NAICS code for this effort is 334511 "Search, Detection, Navigation, Guidance, Aeronautical, and Nautical System and Instrument Manufacturing" with a size standard of 750 employees. This procurement is considered to be single-source based on the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) proprietary data rights of the contractor. Rockwell Collins is the OEM and only source capable to support the installed Flight Management System already on the aircrafts. This is a follow-on contract to contract number DTFAAC-07-D-00078. Contract award date is anticipated to be on or before 09/01/2012. Purpose of Announcement: In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System paragraph 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source via single source procedures. This announcement is for informational purposes only, not a Solicitation/Request for Proposal. Box 25082, Oklahoma City, OK 73125 by February 23rd, 2012. This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has a program to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
