- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network 23 Contracting Office, Minneapolis, Minnesota intends to award a brand name requirements contract in accordance with FAR Parts 12 & 17. The North America Industry Classification System Code [NAICS] is 325413, In-Vitro Diagnostic Substance Manufacturing and the size standard is 500 employees VISN 23 has a requirement for Vitek identification and susceptibility cards. This testing is performed on the Vitek Compact instrumentation. Test cards are proprietary to the equipment; however, this will be a brand name solicitation since the cards are proprietary to the analyzers that they will be used with. The Government intends to award a firm fixed price requirements contract for a period of one base year and four option years. Identification and susceptibility cards will be obtained to perform clinical testing for each of the clinical laboratories located at the following VA facilities: "Black Hills Health Care System, Hot Springs, SD "Black Hills Health Care System, Fort Meade, SD "Central Iowa Health Care System, Des Moines, IA "VA Medical Center, Iowa City, IA "VA Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN "Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System, Omaha, NE "VA Medical Center, St. Cloud, MN "Royal C. Johnson VA Medical Center, Sioux Falls, SD The identification and susceptibility cards must be compatible with and FDA approved to operate on the Vitek Compact instrumentation platform. Orders received must be the same lot number per shipment per site for reasonable QC purposes. When used according to manufacturer's specifications must meet the performance characteristics and quality assessments as defined by the 1988 Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act. All responsible sources may submit a response, which if timely received, will be considered by The Department of Veterans Affairs, NCO23, Minneapolis, Minnesota. This synopsis is for notification purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for bids or proposals. Any company that feels they have items that meet the needs of the Government must submit their technical data (2 pages or less) to support their claim. The information must explain the company's ability to overcome propriety information and compatibility with existing instrumentation.
