Description

The VA National Acquisition Center (NAC) intends to issue Solicitation 797-12-R-0006 for the Influenza Virus Vaccine requirements for the Dept. of Veterans Affairs (VA), including James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center (FHCC), Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), Health and Human Services Supply Service Center in Perry Point, MD (HHS), and Indian Health Service (IHS), for the 2012-2013 influenza season. Items and estimated quantities are as follows: 1) 10 dose multiple dose vial; trivalent; whole or split virus; Latex Free; 2012-2013 influenza season; FDA approved for persons 18 years and older. VA - 76,000 vials BOP - 5,500 vials IHS - 25,332 vials 2) Pre-filled single dose syringes w/plunger and luer lock needle attachment; trivalent; whole or split virus; 2012-2013 influenza season; FDA approved for persons 18 years and older. NOTE: Pre-filled single dose syringes with any type of needle attached are not acceptable. VA - 2,800,000 Syringes BOP - 45,000 Syringes 3) Pre-filled single dose syringes w/plunger and luer lock needle attachment; trivalent; whole or split virus; 2011-2012 influenza season; FDA approved for persons 65 years and older. NOTE: Pre-filled single dose syringes with any type of needle attached are not acceptable. VA - 200,000 Syringes BOP - 400 Syringes IHS - 9,200 Syringes 4) Pre-filled single dose syringes w/plunger and luer lock needle attachment; 2011-2012 influenza season; must be split virus vaccine that has been FDA approved and labeled with indications for administration to children 6 months - 35 months of age (pediatric), preservative free, 0.25ml IHS - 5,660 Syringes 5) Pre-filled single dose, syringes with plunger and luer lock needle attachment; 2011-2012 influenza season; must be split virus vaccine that has been FDA approved and labeled with indications for administration to children 36 months and older (minimum 4 years and older), preservative free, 0.5ml HHS - 137,450 Syringes (minimum 4 years and older) IHS - 67,970 Syringes (36 months and older) 6) 10 dose multiple dose vials, trivalent; whole or split virus; Latex Free; 2011-2012 influenza season; FDA approved and labeled with indications for administration to children 36 months and older (minimum 4 years and older) HHS - 12,906 vials (minimum 4 years andolder) Award will be made per line item for VA, BOP, IHS, and HHS requirements. The Government intends to enter into a sole source contract with Sanofi Pasteur, Inc. for Fluzone ® High-Dose Influenza Virus Vaccine designed specifically for persons 65 years of age and older, under FAR exemption 6.302-1 "only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements". Contractor(s) will be required to deliver the vaccine FOB Destination to Government facilities within the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Solicitation No VA-797-12-R-0006 will be electronically issued in commercial item format in accordance with FAR Part 12 on or about March 1, 2012, with a closing date of March 15, 2011. The NAICS code for this procurement is 325412. Any future amendments and other miscellaneous documents will be available electronically for download at the following URL: http://www.fedbizopps.gov.
