Description
The Utah National Guard intends to award a sole source task order, to the current provider, Verizon Wireless, for cell service against Contract No. W91RUS-11-A-0006 which was issued at Fort Huachuca for use by all Army organizations. Authority Cited: 10 U.S.C. 2304c(b)(2) as implemented in FAR 16.505(2)(iii) and DFARS 215.505-70(b)(2): The order must be issued on a sole source basis in the interest of economy and efficiency as a logical follow-on order already issued under the contract, provided that all awardees were given a fair opportunity to be considered for the original order (see attached J&A). The sole source determination is based on the need for continuity of annual wireless service. The Utah National Guard is currently using 20 phones with unlimited anytime minutes to anyone in the U.S., with unlimited data allowance for e-mail and internet, unlimited text, picture and video messaging, and unlimited mobile broadband. Verizon Wireless is the only vendor capable of renewing the plan currently in use to avoid a break in coverage. It is in the Government's best interest to renew the annual plan with Verizon Wireless. The National American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 517210. The period of performance for this award shall not exceed twelve (12) months. No solicitation or Request for Quote (RFQ) is available for this procurement. Nevertheless, any firm that believes it is capable of meeting the requirements described herein may submit a response; which, if received within five (5) calendar days of the date of this announcement, will be considered. Responses to this posting must be submitted via e-mail; no phone calls will be accepted. A determination not to compete the described task order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Federal Government. Any questions or comments should be directed to Sherri Shepherd, Contract Specialist via e-mail at sherri.shepherd@us.army.mil.
