This is a SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE / REQUEST FOR INFORMATION; not a pre-solicitation notice or solicitation for proposals/quotations. Pursuant to FAR Part 10 (Market Research), the purpose of this notice is to: (1) determine if sources capable of satisfying the agency's requirements exists, (2) determine if commercial items suitable to meet the agency's needs are available or could be modified to meet the agency's requirements, and (3) determine the commercial practices of company's engaged in providing the needed service or supply. Pursuant to FAR Part 6 and FAR Part 19, competition and set-aside decisions may be based on the results of this market research. This notice in no way obligates the Government to any further action. Requirement: This notice is issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs, Boston VA Healthcare System, Jamaica Plain, MA to identify sources capable of providing the following: VISN 1 Contracting is conducting market research on DataPaq A6 High Speed Rack Scanner with Cryoprotection. We are looking for potential distributors of the DataPaq A6 High Speed Rack Scanner with Cryoprotection. Please see the following product information and salient characteristics below. Product Information/Salient Characteristics DataPaq A6 High Speed Rack Scanner with Cryoprotection (Part number #: ZTS-A6-80) The A6-sized scanner is currently our most popular product. It offers easy set up, straight out of the box, and with only a few minutes needed for configuration of our DataPaq software, you'll be ready to start scanning in no time at all. A one-time automatic calibration means that you'll then be set up and ready to read any and all tubes, including Micronic, Matrix, Nunc, Abgene, REMP and many more. Cryoprotective Coating to Eliminate Condensation The A6 scanner is also available with cryoprotective proofing, to avoid condensation build-up within the scanner. Condensation can prevent the scanner from reading the 2D barcodes properly. Therefore, if you will be regularly scanning tubes straight from the freezer, the cryoprotective proofing could be the solution for you.
