Description
The United States Department of Justice (DOJ) intends to issue a Request for Proposals for a transcription services contract(s) to support DOJ's Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR). Contractor personnel will furnish administrative, logistical, professional, and technical labor, supplies, equipment, facilities, and materials necessary to provide, in both hard copy and electronic format, typed transcripts of Government-owned recordings of immigration hearings on an as-ordered basis. The length of each immigration hearing ranges from one hour to an entire day or more. The hearings are primarily recorded on EOIR's digital audio recording system and, when necessary, on cassette tapes using analog recording equipment, and the tape becomes part of the official Record of Proceeding. The average length of a transcript resulting from one immigration hearing is approximately one hundred pages. The average hearing is 2.6 hours in length; some may be considerably longer. As many as four (4) indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contracts are anticipated for this requirement. The Government anticipates setting aside each awarded contract for a small business concern. The Government anticipates a base period of twelve months for the resultant contract(s) with four additional option periods of one year each for a total period of performance of sixty (60) months. The solicitation will be available on or about April 01, 2012. Due date for receipt of proposals will be approximately thirty (30) days after issuance of the solicitation. All information regarding this procurement, including the solicitation document and amendments, will only be made available electronically on the General Service Administration's 'Federal Business Opportunities' web site, http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation itself will not be available. Interested parties should periodically check this Internet site for information regarding the schedule and this acquisition.
