- Description
- The FAA, Aviation System Standards (AVN), Flight Inspection Flight Programs Divisions, Flight Program Integration Team (AJW-393) has a requirement for the purchase of eight (8) each, new Honeywell HG2195AB04 Inertial Reference Units (IRU) with a trade-in of six (6) HG2100AB06 Inertial Reference Unit (IRU) that are currently on the FAA's Challenger aircraft. Six are required due to the STC for the Challenger 604/605 aircraft modification for use as Flight Inspection aircraft, as two of the units are used in the front end of the aircraft for navigation and one in the back used for the Flight Inspection systems. All aircraft parts must be certificated to the aircraft and only these certified parts are authorized for use on the aircraft in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations Parts 21 and 135. As such, no other manufacturers' equipment has been certified for the function and purpose of this equipment for this aircraft. By Federal Regulation, the Honeywell HG2100AB06, P/N YG4037AB was certified for use on the Challenger aircraft in its commercial mode. Six of these units will be offered as trade-in units to offset the cost of the 8 new IRUs as the Challenger has been modified to be a flight inspection aircraft under the FAA's STC for the FAA's Challenger 604/605 which requires the HG2195AB04 IRU to be installed. This procurement is limited to only Honeywell part number HG2195AB04 as Honeywell is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM). Under this requirement, only Honeywell authorized service centers will be able to provide the new IRU units. All offerors must provide documentation that they have and will provide only equipment from Honeywell International, Inc. All offerors must provide documentation that they are an authorized service center/dealer of Honeywell International, Inc. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334511.
