- Description
- Integrated Electronic Warfare System (IEWS) Outreach Day 2 Sponsored by PEO IEW&S, PM Electronic Warfare 27 Mar 2012 C4ISR Center of Excellence Campus Bldg 6000, Myer Auditorium Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD INTRODUCTION Project Manager Electronic Warfare is announcing Integrated Electronic Warfare System (IEWS) Outreach Day 2 to be conducted 27 March 2012 at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. IEWS is the Army's concept for long term materiel solutions that address select Electronic Warfare (EW) gaps. IEWS consists of a family of systems that provides Brigade Combat Team (BCT) commanders with an organic EW capability that dramatically improves a land force's ability to seize, retain, and exploit an advantage within the electromagnetic spectrum (EMS) in order to execute decisive operations successfully. DESCRIPTION There are three distinct IEWS lines of effort; however, the building blocks of IEWS will be modular, scalable and interoperable to allow system growth in responses to a variety of emerging threats and scenarios. The EW Planning & Management Tool (EWPMT) program is a suite of software tools and applications that enhance the Electronic Warfare Element's ability to coordinate and synchronize EW throughout the operations process. EWPMT will allow the Electronic Warfare Officer to plan, coordinate, manage, and deconflict distributed, networked EW assets and activities within their area of operations. The Multi-Function EW (MFEW) program is a family of systems that provide offensive electronic attack (EA) and electronic warfare support (ES) capability organic to the BCT. MFEW will consist of ground vehicle, dismounted, fixed site, and airborne EA variants to deliver scalable non-lethal effects to support Unified Land Operations and protect personnel, equipment and facilities. The Defensive Electronic Attack (DEA) program is a family of systems that provide force protection to ground forces operating in convoys, dismounted units, and fixed locations in support of BCT operations. The IEWS family of systems will be networked to allow remote operation, dynamic tasking and reprogramming, electronic warfare support to intelligence, and will empower the BCT commander to shape the electromagnetic spectrum to their advantage. ADMINISTRATIVE All parties are required to register for the IEWS Outreach Day 2 at http://www.ewoutreachday.com. Foreign visitors will not be allowed on Aberdeen Proving Grounds. PM Electronic Warfare suggests that foreign companies send US citizen representatives. The location of Outreach Day 2 is the C4ISR Center of Excellence Campus Bldg 6000, Myer Auditorium, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. A draft agenda is not available at this time, but will be posted on the website at least two weeks prior to the Outreach Day 2. Any changes or follow on for this announcement will be posted on FedBizOps. This Outreach Day 2 is for planning purposes only and shall not be considered as an Invitation for Bids, Request for Quotations, or a Request for Proposals, nor does it constitute authority to enter into negotiations or to award a contract. Additionally, there is no obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services described in this Outreach Day 2.
