- Description
- The request for proposal is hereby amended to address vendor questions and answers, incorporate a change to the relevant past performance evaluation criteria and extend the due date for offerors as follows: 1. Vendor questions and answers: Question: In regards to the requirements for the Superconducting Magnet (Optional Line Item 0006), normally the length is not specified, does the specification mean there is 10" available between the bottom of the mixing chamber flange to the center of the field or does it actually mean the field of 8 Tesla has to extend over 10" of length? Answer: NIST does not mean that the field of 8 T has to extend over 10"; NIST means that there is 10" available between the bottom of the mixing chamber (MC) flange and the bottom of the vacuum can or radiation shield. The field center should be within this the middle 4" of this 10" length (ie, there should be at least 3" clearance between field center and MC bottom, at least 3" clearance between field center and vacuum can/radiation shield. 2. Relevant Past Performance: FROM: Relevant past performance would include a dilution refrigerator (0.02 K base temperature) that is cryogen free. Past performance for a general cryogenic system at 0.3 or 1.0 K that requires cryogens would not be considered relevant. TO: Relevant past performance would include a dilution refrigerator (0.03 K base temperature) that is cryogen free. Past performance for a general cryogenic system at 0.3 or 1.0 K or that requires cryogens would not be considered relevant. 3. Due date for offers: FROM: Submission must be received not later than 3:00 p.m. local time on March 15, 2012. TO: Submission must be received not later than 3:00 p.m. local time on March 30, 2012.
