Description
This is a Sources Sought synopsis. This is not a solicitation. The purpose of this sources sought synopsis is to identify other qualified sources prior to the release of any potential solicitation for the repair the following Tactical Automated Security System (TASS) Equipment: Annual Best Estimated Quantity (BEQ) 1600 each, Rechargeable Battery Module I (RBM I), NSN: 6140ND022503J, P/Ns: 858206, 858206-1 or 5-670-TASS-1008; Annual Best Estimated Quantity (BEQ) 450 each, Rechargeable Battery Module II (RBM II), NSN: 6140ND022504J or 6140ND024895J, P/N: TASS-1800 or TASS-1800-1; Annual Best Estimated Quantity (BEQ) 10 each, Communication Module Converter I (CMC I), NSN: 6350ND022780J, P/N: 858221-1; Annual Best Estimated Quantity (BEQ) 20 each, Communication Module Converter II (CMC II), NSN: 6350ND022508J, P/N: TASS-1900 The RBM supplies DC power to various TASS equipment. Single RBMs provide power to boundary sensors, CM repeaters, and CMs at annunciators. RBMs can be connected in a string to a CM repeater or to a CMC to communicate with the annunciator. The CMC allows multiple devices to interface with the annunciator, without adding special options to the annunciator. The CMC connects the annunciator to its Communication Module (CM) and the Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), as well as to the Hand Held Monitor (HHM). A string of rechargeable battery modules (RBMs) can also be connected to a CMC. The current repair source for these TASS equipment items is SeChan Electronics, Inc., 525 Furnance Hills Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 (CAGE: 7Z941). Detailed technical data and drawings for the repair of these TASS equipment items are not available from the Government. Any interested source that can meet this requirement is invited to submit a written qualification package including the following information: 1) contractor name and phone number, 2) a brief statement detailing capabilities to repair such items, 3) a list of names and phone numbers of references to whom you have repaired these items for, and 4) type of business. Interested sources are requested to submit a package by close of business on 20 March 2012, no later than 4:00 p.m. local time. All data received in response to this announcement marked or designated as corporate or proprietary information will be fully protected from release outside the Government. Availability of any formal solicitation will be announced separately. The Sources Sought announcement is requested for informational purposes only. The Government will not pay for any materials provided in response to this synopsis and submittals will not be returned to the sender.
