Description
At the walk-through held on March 1, 2012, some questions from the contractors came up that were answered by the engineer from PB Dewberry pertaining to the scope of work. THe questions and answers are listed below: Question: Number 5 on page 9 under Extent of Work- Are the secondary pans only to be installed with the 7 new units or should there be a secondary pan under all 20 units to prevent over-spill? Answer: A secondary pan should be installed on all twenty (20) units to prevent over-spill. Question: Number 9 on page 10 under Extent of Work- Should they replace the filters on all 20 units? And there was some confusion about the return air filter grill. Should that be for all 20 or just new units? Answer: The filters should be replaced by the contractor at all manufacture recommended locations for all twenty units. This should include the return grill and at the unit location for all twenty units unless specified otherwise by the manufacture. Question: On section e. page 7, if there is no asbestos in the building would there be a need for Asbestos/Environmental Liability? does that cover more than just asbestos or what? Answer: Coverage is required in the event that asbestos is present and/or uncovered as an unforeseen during the project. If there is no asbestos currently present then the coverage would not apply, but the contractor must be able to obtain such coverage and would be required in the event of asbestos being found during the project. **Recommend extending the bid date by seven (7) calendar days from March 15, 2012 to March 22, 2012 and revise deadline time that day to allow for FedEx and UPS to deliver and the center to receive proposals on March 22, 2012.
