NAICS CODE- 238210 Contracting Office Information: Department Of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 3 130 W. Kingsbridge Road Rm. 9b16 Bronx NY 10468 Synopsis: Please note that this is NOT a request for quotes or proposals, the Government is seeking information for market research purposes only. The Department of Veterans Affairs, NORTHPORT VAMC, is currently conducting a market survey for qualified firms capable of Switch Gear Maintenance for an electrical sub-station Vendor will be responsible for: all problems pertaining to high voltage (480) volts up to and including 13,200 volts main high voltage cables, primary switchgear and breakers including but not limited to substation and building 200 located on the medical center grounds. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) is 238210. Responses to this notice must be submitting in writing (email or fax) and must be received not later than March 15, 2012. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. ***FEDBID WILL NOT BE USED FOR THIS PROCUREMENT. THE ANNOUNCEMENT WILL BE MADE THROUGH AND ACCEPTED THROUGH FBO.*** The purpose of this notice is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources for this procurement relative to NAICS 238210. Qualified offerors shall be experienced in addition to certified technicians capable of performing electrical substation maintenance. Responses to this notice will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. Responses to this notice should include company/individual name, a service capability statement, examples of similar facilities which you have provided services to (a capabilities statement), DUNS number, address, point of contact. If your firm is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned or Veteran Owned Small Business, you must be CERTIFIED in VetBiz (see internet site: http://vip.vetbiz.gov). Contractor must be registered in Central Contractor Registry (CCR) (see internet site: http://www.ccr.gov). Responses to this notice must be submitted in writing (email or fax) and received not later than March 15, 2012 at 10:00AM. A solicitation is not currently available. If a solicitation is issued, it will be announced on Federal Business opportunities website http://www.fbo.gov at a later date, and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement. Emergency service throughout the Medical Center for high voltage equipment for FY 2012. 2.Background: [Briefly explain the history of this requirement, what exists currently and your vision of the future as it relates to the work at hand. STATEMENT OF WORK Renew service contract for emergency repairs to high voltage equipment for the period of DOA thru Sept 30, 2012. Provide emergency repair to high voltage equipment as stated. Work to be paid in accordance with hourly labor rates quoted and established in this contract for normal, evening and holiday periods. Labor rates are to include all travel costs. VA normal business hours due to circumstances beyond the contractor's control. Written evidence of need must be furnished upon request. If no service is requested or rendered, the VA has no obligation. The contract shall supply all manpower supervision. Tools and equipment necessary to respond to any high voltage powers throughout the station after being notified within two (2) hours during any 24 hour period. 7 days per week. Including holidays. Contract includes all problems pertaining to high voltage (480) volts up to and including 13,200 volts, main high voltage cables, primary switchgear and breakers including but not limited to substation and building 200. Detailed legible service reports shall be submitted to the foreman, electric shop after each call. Such reports shall advise of any repair parts required that are necessary to maintain the equipment if first class operations condition and a quotation for the cost of services and parts. All work shall be performed by competent mechanics, experienced and qualified to work on the specific equipment and all work performed shall be in accordance with good commercial practice.
