Description

This requirement is for the purchase of propulsion shafts for the 418-foot Maritime Security Cutter Large (WMSL) class of vessels. This acquisition will be a sole source commercial procurement to Rolls-Royce Naval Marine, Inc. pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements, under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Rolls-Royce Naval Marine, Inc. is the original equipment manufacturer of the shafts and possesses the proprietary knowledge and technical data to manufacture the shafts. The North American Industrial Classification Code (NAICS) is 332111, Iron and Steel Forging, and the size standard is 500 employees. Supplies Required: 2 each, Line Shaft, NSN: 2010-01-555-7582, Part Number: 150110-02 2 each, Stern Tube Shaft, NSN: 2010-01-562-3915, Part Number: 150110-01 2 each, Propeller Shaft, NSN 2010-01-555-5058, Part Number: 150108-01 2 each, Oil Tube Assembly, NSN: 4710-01-588-9448, Part Number: 150165 Required delivery date: 18 months after contract award Delivery terms: FOB Destination The contract will be awarded as a firm-fixed price contract. A solicitation will not be made available at fbo.gov and copies will not be available electronically or by U.S. mail. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement or proposal by 23 March 2012 which shall be considered by the agency. This is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
