- Description
- The NASA/SSC Office of Procurement intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP)for the following items to be delivered to the John C. Stennis Space Center, Mississippi(SSC).The work to be performed under this requirement is the supply of 27 each LiquidOxygen (LOX) and Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) valves in accordance with (IAW) the followingStatement of Work and Data Sheets:Statement of Work for 2 Angle Globe Propellant Valve Procurement:1.0 Background: While performing verification and validation testing of a chemical steamgenerator (CSG) unit at the Stennis Space Center, MS E2 test facility, the performance ofthe 2 angle-globe valves as supplied with the unit have not been able to withstand theoperating conditions encountered in both the ambient and cryogenic propellant systems. Pieces of seat material have been liberated from the seat and valve stem possiblyallowing propellants to leak into the combustion chambers after very minimal valveoperational cycles.2.0 Scope: Provide propellant valves per the attached data sheets for use on ChemicalSteam Generators at Stennis Space Center.3.0 Deliverables: 2-inch angle globe valves and actuators with limit switches per theattached valve sheets for the following propellant systems:a) 27 ea. - Liquid oxygen (LOX) and 1 set of LOX certified seat softgoods forrebuilding. Valves shall be cleaned to 1X per SSTD-8070-0089-Fluids.b) 27 ea. - 91% by volume of Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) and 1 set of seat softgoods forrebuilding. Valves shall be cleaned to 2XX per SSTD-8070-0089-Fluids.c) The valves will be functioning in a Class I, Div. 2, Group B environment as defined bythe National Electric Code, Article 500.d) Delivery schedule shall be as follows: - 8 Weeks ARO*: 6 LOX valves and 6 IPA valves - 11 Weeks ARO: 6 LOX valves and 6 IPA valves - 13 Weeks ARO: 7 LOX valves and 7 IPA valves - 16 Weeks ARO: 8 LOX valves and 8 IPA valves* After Receipt of Order-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------A3 CSG Remote Operated Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) Valve Data Sheet:FUNCTION: Isolation/ConfigurationP&ID DWG #: PSK-A3-9101-FACFLUID:Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA)OPERATING PRESSURE (PSIG): 700OPERATING TEMPERATURE (deg F):Ambient (70 deg F)TYPE: Angle GlobeSIZE: 2PRESSURE RATING (PSIG): 720 operating, 1080 proofFAILURE MODE: Fail CloseVALVE FLOW CHARACTERISTIC: Unbalanced trim, flow over seatNOMINAL Cv@ 100% OPEN:46INLET CONNECTION: 300# ANSI Flange; concentric serratedOUTLET CONNECTION: 300# ANSI Flange; concentric serratedLENGTH CENTER TO FACE:5.8 maxACTUATOR TYPE:Pneumatic, linear cylinder, double-acting, air to open, spring to closeMATERIALS: Body, Bonnet, Plug, Seat Ring 316 SST, Soft Seat material PTFE; Carbonsteel parts must be painted; Fasteners (nuts, bolts, etc.) must be made of SST.ACCESSORIES: Asco solenoid valve 4-way, 2 position valve, 24 Vdc, SPDT limit switches(open & closed) for Class I, Div. 2, Group B area.COMMENTS: Shutoff Class VI; Bonnet Type Standard for ambient service; Pneumatic supplyto actuator is clean, dry (-300 deg F dew point temperature) nitrogen; Trimcharacteristic equal percent (%) trim; One (1) additional set of softgood materials forvalve body assembly and seat rebuild.
