Description
This is a modification to the RFI titled, 'Robot System for use in GeosynchronousEarth Orbit' which was posted on March 9, 2012. You are notified of the followingQuestions and Responses:1. Is an emailed response to the RFI sufficient? If so, should the email be directed to Claudia Canales or Dean S Patterson? Is a hardcopy also required?Response: An emailed response to the RFI is sufficient; hard copies are not required. RFI submissions should be sent to both points of contact.2. Are there any requirements beyond the Technical Specifications provided in Section 2of the RFI, especially for the flight arms and the environmental conditions under whichthey must operate? If so, where can we get those requirements?Response: There are no specific environmental requirements. Please include theconditions (EMI/EMC, radiation, thermal vacuum, vibration, etc.) under which the existingrobot arm has been designed, analyzed, and tested (actually performed and planned) aspart of your response.3. Is the availability of the existing robot arm for testing and evaluation requested inSection 4 of the RFI to be a deliverable or is it to be on loan to GSFC until delivery ofthe engineering unit, qualification unit, and flight units?Response: The existing robot arm for testing and evaluation is to be on loan to GSFCuntil delivery of the engineering unit, qualification unit, and flight units. Pleasestate in your response if delivering it to Goddard is also an option.Offerors are responsible for monitoring this site for the release of any amendments.
