Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office (VISN 8) intends to negotiate a Sole Source under the authority of FAR 6.302 commercial item services contract to Shands Teaching Hospital, aka Shands @ UF. The requirement is for the Specialized Hematopathology Lab Testing Services. Specimens shall be packaged and picked up from the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Services, Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville Florida. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to negotiate and solicit with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may submit their capability statement no later than March 30, 2012 4 PM EST. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
