- Thank you for taking the time to assist us in gathering this information! Mission Contracting Office, Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC), Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM), Washington, is currently conducting preliminary planning market research to determine commercial market practices and the existence of viable commercial sources capable of providing complete services for the maintenance and repairs of Kitchen Hoods and Exhaust System Maintenance. The anticipated period of performance is 1 December 2012 through 30 November 2013 with the possibility to exercise options of up to four years. An important outcome of this research is the possibility of setting aside this acquisition for exclusive competitive participation within a specific Small Business Administration (SBA) program in accordance with (IAW) FAR 19.201(a). Specific SBA programs are veteran-owned small business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business, HUBZone small business, small disadvantaged business, women-owned small business, and economically-disadvantaged women-owned small business. MICC, JBLM is seeking industry information and comments from sources with capabilities to perform the contract and with relevant experience in all of the functional areas mentioned in the Description of Services. Interested parties shall complete and submit the attached Market Research Questionnaire to the Government. You are advised that providing responses to the questions will not automatically include you in the acquisition process for future solicitations. DISCLAIMER: This Sources Sought (SS) is submitted in accordance with 52.215-3, Request for Information or Solicitation for Planning Purposes (Oct 1997). This SS is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposals (RFP), Invitation for Bids (IFB) or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any services. Responses to this SS shall not serve as proposals, bids, or offers, which could be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. MICC JBLM will not accept unsolicited proposals related to the subject of this SS. The responder must clearly identify any information it considers sensitive or proprietary. All information received in response to this SS that is marked "Proprietary" will be handled accordingly. Responses to this SS will not be returned. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with and incurred by responding to this SS. The Government reserves the right to determine how it should proceed as a result of this notice. Description of Services: The requirement is for the contractor to accomplish the following: - The contractor shall remove all grease, dirt, and debris from kitchen exhaust and hood systems. Clean all surfaces of kitchen exhaust hood, to include all interior and exterior parts. These services shall include complete cleanup of the work areas, leaving no grease, debris, tools, or equipment behind. After completion of the maintenance and cleaning, the contractor shall clearly label all tag enclosure boxes and manual pulls with the same following information: previous and current date item was inspected, cleaned and maintained, and other. - The performance of maintenance or service, to include to inspect, clean, maintain, perform minor repair, and/or replace parts on kitchen hood and exhaust systems. - Perform monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual services to kitchen exhaust and hood systems. - Perform work to maintain and restore equipment to a safe and serviceable condition throughout its life cycle. - Perform repairs that require the skills, tools, equipment, maintenance personnel, and facilities to restore serviceability, and prolong the life of the kitchen hood and exhaust systems.
