Description
This is a pre-solicitation notice for a Variable Stability in Flight Simulator. The Air Force Test Pilot School requires a variable stability in flight simulator. It can be used to present multiple aircraft dynamic configurations to students during a single flight sortie. The needs to be modified so that it can fly like a wide variety of aircraft, and unlike ground simulations, the aircraft will provide motion cues in a flight realistic environment. The aircraft also needs to have safety limits installed on the aircraft's control system so that if an unsafe limit is approached, the aircraft will revert to the baseline (safe) aircraft dynamics. The aircraft also requires the ability to implement multiple control configurations on top of the various aircraft dynamic configurations, allowing students to experience a wide variety of control implementations in a safe, controlled, and relevant flight environment. The aircraft will allow TPS to expose students to a wide range of aircraft dynamics and aircraft control configurations in a realistic environment while providing the safety net to ensue students encounter minimal risk during flight. Using this type of aircraft will allow us to fly one aircraft to demonstrate a wide range of aircraft characteristics that would otherwise require an entire stable of aircraft to demonstrate. Further, by having safety limits imposed that will return the aircraft to a baseline (safe), a safety net is created for the flights that would not exist if we were flying multiple aircraft with different dynamics on an individual basis All interested vendors should submit information to include: Name of Company Address Phone number Point of Contact Cage Code or DUNS Business Size Brief discription of aircraft available through your company that meets the above requirements. This pre-solicitation is for planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for bid or proposal. It is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The Government does not intend to pay for any information provided under this notice. All respondents are reminded of the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) requirement to be considered eligible for any potential Department of Defense (DoD) contract. CCR registration information can be obtained at www.ccr.gov
