- This notice serves as Amendment One (1) to RFQ IHS1167099. The Amendment is issued to respond to several questions received and clarify/change the battery requirement. Question 1: Is Smoke Alarm with Lithium Battery Solicitation Number IHS1177099 a new bid? Answer: The requirement is a Reuqest for Quotation (RFQ) for smoke alarms with a 9-volt lithium battery. Battery requirement is now changed as a result of requestor clarification. See below. Question 2: Can the past abstract be sent? Answer: See Question 5 below. Question 3: Which companies and their part numbers qualify for this procurement? Answer: It is the responsibility of the quoter to quote a smoke alarm and battery that meets the requirements identified in the RFQ and this amendment one (1). Question 4: Do you want a quote on a ionization or photoelectric alarm with a lithium battery or a dual sensor alarm with a regular battery? Answer: No. The smoke alarm must be dual sensor photoelectric/ionization smoke alarm with a 10-year LITHIUM battery. Question 5: Can previous smoke alarm award information be provided? Answer: Yes but this smoke alarm requirement is different. The previous award was for 400 each First Alert 710CN smoke detectors. Awardee: Capitol Supply Inc. Sunrise, FL. Award was made September 23, 2011. One quote was received in respond to a competitive RFQ. Clarification: The smoke alarm must use a 10-year warranty LITHIUM battery. If a smoke alarm is not prepackaged with lithium battery quoters must package a lithium battery separately quote as a separate line item the lithium battery. An example of a smoke alarm that can use a lithium battery is the Kidde Model PI9000. The alarm must meet these requirements UL2034, UL217, NFPA72, NFPA 101, Federal Housing Authority and HUD. The closing date has been extended to April 24, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. CST.
