- This Sources Sought Notice neither constitutes a Request for Quote, nor does it restrict the Government to an ultimate acquisition approach. This Sources Sought Notice should not be construed as a commitment by the Government for any purpose. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. This Sources Sought Notice is in support of a market survey being conducted by the Walla Walla District, Corps of Engineers to identify contractors that can supply replacement parts for Extended Submersible Barrier Screens (ESBS) drive assembly including roller chains, wear strips, sprockets, locating pins, coupling hubs and inserts, brushes, and an arbor press for McNary Lock and Dam. Installation will be performed by McNary Project personnel. This Sources Sought announcement is a tool to identify small business concerns with the capability to accomplish the work. Only those firms who respond to this announcement by submitting a statement of their current or past technical experience (what the firm has done) and current or past performance (how well the firm did it) similar to or the same as the requirements stated above, will be used in the determination whether to set-aside this requirement for small business. Include a statement indicating the size of your business (small business, 8(a) small business, HubZone small business, or Service Disabled Veteran Owned small business concern) and a Point of Contact. Any information submitted by respondents to this synopsis is strictly voluntary. The Government will not pay for any information that is submitted by respondents to this Sources Sought Synopsis. ASME B29.4M (1994) Double pitch conveyor roller chains, attachments, and sprockets 4.0GENERAL 4.1 The roller chain shall be Double-Pitch Conveyor Roller Chain C2160H in accordance with ASME B29.1M and ASME B29.4M. The chain shall be riveted pin construction with press fit link plates. The connecting links shall be drive fit with cotter pin construction. Roller chain shall be 83'-4" long and assembled from (4) 16'-8", (1) 14'-0", and (1) 2'-8" lengths. Roller chain components shall be stainless steel meeting the following specifications: 4.1.1 Chain pins: ASTM A276 or ASTM A479/A 479M, UNS Designation S21800 (Nitronic 60), 60,000 psi minimum Yield Strength (0.2% Offset Method). 4.1.2 Bushings: ASTM A564 or ASTM A693, Type 630 (17-4), 40-48 Rockwell "C". 4.1.3 Pin links and Roller links: 300 series stainless steel conforming to ASTM 276 or ASTM A240. All pin links and roller links shall be of the same type and grade of stainless steel. 4.1.4 Rollers: Type 304 or Type 316. 4.1.5 Cotter pins: Type 302, Type 304, or Type 316. 4.2 The roller chain connecting links shall be made from materials stated in 4.1.1 through 4.1.5. Connecting (master) links will be utilized to repair damaged lengths of chain. 4.3 Drive sprocket item #108-1. Manufacture from UHMW-PE, virgin materials with no reclaimed materials. Item dimensions must be within tolerances specified on dwg # MDP-5.14-3-4/108. A method described to designate the twelve and six o'clock position on the drive sprocket shall be visible to the naked eye and will not weaken the material. 4.4 Take up track item #120-1. Manufacture from UHMW-PE, virgin materials with no reclaimed materials. Fastener holes are NOT to be machined and are marked as such on supplied drawings. Item dimensions must be within tolerances specified on dwg # MDP-5.14-3-4/120. 4.5 Take up track item #120-2. Manufacture from UHMW-PE, virgin materials with no reclaimed materials. Fastener holes are NOT to be machined and are marked as such on supplied drawings. Item dimensions must be within tolerances specified on dwg # MDP-5.14-3-4/120. 4.6 Cleaning device brush item #123-2. Made from High Density Polyethylene (HD-PE) virgin materials with no reclaimed materials, Nylon Grade 6.12 for filaments, 107 tuft holes, 0.315" dia tuft spaced 0.483". Staple wire to be made from stainless steel to prevent corrosion. 4.7 Brush bar wear strip item #123-3. Two required per brush bar. Manufacture from UHMW-PE, virgin materials with no reclaimed materials. Item (123-3) must be within tolerances specified on dwg MDP-5.14-3-4/123. 4.8 Sheave pin item #24-3. Made from ASTM A564 Type 630 steel. Age hardened at 1150 plus or minus 15 degrees Fahrenheit. Four hours to air cool. 4.9 Sheave pin item #24-4. Made from ASTM A564 Type 630 steel. Age hardened at 1150 plus or minus 15 degrees Fahrenheit. Four hours to air cool 4.10 Sheave pin item #28-4. Made from ASTM A564 Type 630 steel. The size and length of the ram shall be 2 inches by 2 inches by a minimum of 28 inches in working length. The leverage ratio and the minimum capacity in tons shall be 90:1 and 7 tons. 5.0SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS 5.1 The contractor shall provide certification of materials used for assembling or manufacturing items 4.1 through 4.13. 6.0SUBMITTALS Before acceptance of "Or Approved Equal" quotes, submittals must be approved by Contracting Officer's Representative (COR). Submittals include copy of system drawings, manufactures catalog cuts, O&M manual, specification sheets, and warranty. 7.0WARRANTY Each component shall be covered by a minimum one-year warranty on all parts, labor, and workmanship from factory defects. 8.0SHIPMENT AND DELIVERY Items 4.1 and 4.2 shall be delivered FOB to McNary Lock and Dam within 26 weeks of contract award. Items 4.3 through 4.14 shall be delivered within 8 weeks of contract award date. The contractor shall be responsible for packing and shipping the components in a manner that will ensure undamaged and complete arrival to McNary Lock and Dam. No shipments are allowed other than normal business hours of Monday-Thursday 7:00AM - 4PM, excluding holidays. All shipments shall be delivered to: McNary Lock and Dam 82925 Devore Rd.
