- This work consists of the installation of a new fire suppression system in the curatorial storage facility which will provide for employees safety and the protection of museum collections for the Tuskegee Institute National Historic Site. The fire suppression system will be a dry pipe system and will require a new water line to be run from the main line running parallel to Franklin Road. A stub out adjacent to the neighboring Maintenance Building will be provided for future expansion of the fire suppression system. A new roadway valve and fire department connection will be provided at the northeast corner of the building. This procurement is 100% set-aside for HUBZone businesses pursuant to FAR Subpart 19.13. Businesses that are not HUBZone will not be given consideration. The NAICS for this work is 238210; with a size standard of $33.5 million. The applicable wage determination is AL120026 dated April 13, 2012. Funds are currently available for this work. The government does require one go no-go evaluation factor. The go no-go factor means the contractor either meet this requirement or will not be given further consideration. The go no-go factor is: Automatic Sprinkler System Technician performing work on this contract shall hold at least a NICET Level 2 (Associate Engineering Technicia) in Fire Protection Engineering Technology, Automatic Sprinkler Systems. The Contractor or its subcontractor shall possess certification of training, license and/or permits required by the appropriate local government entity (i.e., state, county, city or parish). Additional details will be provided in the solicitation documents. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be available on or about May 10, 2012 and the proposals will be due on or about June 12, 2012. The magnitude of construction for this work is $25,000.00 - $100,000.00. Award will be made to the lowest offered price that has met the go no-go factor and is determined fair and reasonable. An offer may be rejected if it is determined unfair, unreasonable or unconsciousable. The contractor(s) may be required to submit other than cost or pricing information in determining price reasonableness. A pre-proposal conference will NOT be held. Site visits are available and must be arranged in advance at least 72 hours prior to the site visit. Site visits will be held on May 15, 16, 17, 23, and 24, 2012 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. To arrange for a site visit please email laurie_chestnut@nps.gov. The Contracting Officer will not be avialable during the site visit. Therefore, any information provided by government personnel during the site visit will not be binding. Contractors are required to submit their questions in writing to the Laurie Chestnut, Contracting Officer by May 31, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Questions may be submitted electronically to laurie_chestnut@nps.gov.
