- NASA/KSC is hereby soliciting information about potential sources for EthernetSwitches that may be integrated into future prototype spaceflight systems.The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Kennedy Space Center is seekingcapability statements from all interested parties, including Small, Small Disadvantaged(SDB), 8(a), Woman-owned (WOSB), Veteran Owned (VOSB), Service Disabled Veteran Owned(SD-VOSB), Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) businesses, andHistorically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU)/Minority Institutions (MI) for thepurposes of determining the appropriate level of competition and/or small businesssubcontracting goals for Ethernet Switches that may be integrated into future prototypespaceflight systems. The Government reserves the right to consider a Small, 8(a),Woman-owned (WOSB), Service Disabled Veteran (SD-VOSB), or HUBZone business set-asidebased on responses hereto.Technical Specifications1.General Ports:No Less Than 16 Gigabit Ethernet Ports (1000BASE-T)2.Uplink Ports: No Less than 2 Ethernet Uplink ports, operating at or aboveGigabit Ethernet speeds3.Form Factor: Pluggable into a High Speed Backplane (VPX, cPCI, etc.), no largerthan 3U4.OSI Layer(s): Layer 2, or Layers 2/3+ (Preferred)5.Management: Fully Managed6.Features: Switching, VLANs, Routing, Multicasting, Tunneling, Port Mirroring,Flow Control, Quality of Service, traffic shaping, SSH, SSL7.Temperature Rating: -40C to +85C8.Thermal Management: Conduction Cooled9.Radiation Hardening: Radiation Hardened version availabe, either currently or onfuture path (optional for this phase)10.Ruggedness: Shall withstand elevated levels of Shock and Vibration perMIL-STD-810E, or similar11.Electromagnetic Compatability:Shall conform to the ElectromagneticCompatability requirements of MIL-STD-461, or similar12. Availability:Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) in 12 weeks or less.No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If asolicitation is released it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps and on the NASA AcquisitionInternet Service. It is the potential offerors responsibility to monitor these sitesfor the release of any solicitation or synopsis.Vendors having the capabilities necessary to meet or exceed the attached requirements areinvited to submit appropriate documentation, literature, brochures, and references. Please submit your company name, DUNS, CAGE, business size, socioeconomic classification,address, and point of contact with telephone and email information.This synopsis is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as acommitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited.
